Getting Started
Opening a SpennX account
To get started with SpennX, follow these steps:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS). Make sure you are downloading the official SpennX app.
- Register by signing up with your full name, active phone number, and a valid email address. These details will be linked to your account for security and recovery purposes.
- Create your unique SpennX Tag, which will act as your personalized username or ID for sending and receiving money easily.
- Set up your 4-digit PIN, which will be required to authorize all transactions. For your safety, choose a secure PIN that is easy to remember but hard for others to guess.
- Verify your identity by completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) process. This may include uploading a valid ID, taking a clear selfie, and confirming your details. Verification helps secure your account and unlocks full access to all SpennX features.
- Once verification is successful, your account will be activated, and you can start sending, receiving, and managing money instantly through SpennX.

How to payout
To send a payout using SpennX, follow these steps:
- Click on the “Payout” icon on your dashboard to begin.
- Tap the “+” icon to start a new payout request.
- Select the recipient’s country and currency. This ensures the money is delivered in the correct format and can be accessed easily by your recipient.
- Click ‘Next’ to continue.
- Choose the delivery method – for example, direct bank transfer, mobile money, or cash pickup (options may vary depending on the country).
- Click ‘Next’ once you have selected the most convenient option.
- Enter the payout details, such as the recipient’s full name, account number, mobile wallet details, or pickup information, depending on the method chosen.
- Click ‘Next’ to review your request.
- Double-check all the information – country, currency, delivery method, and recipient details – to ensure accuracy and avoid delays.
- Submit the payout request. You may be asked to confirm with your PIN or biometric verification.
- Once completed, your recipient will receive the funds through the chosen method, and both you and the recipient will receive a notification confirming the transaction.
How to send money
To send money using SpennX, follow these simple steps:
- Click on the “Send” icon on your dashboard to begin.
- Choose your recipient by entering their phone number, email address, or SpennX tag. Ensure that the details are correct to avoid sending funds to the wrong person.
- Fill in the recipient details, including their name if prompted, so you can easily identify the transaction later.
- Enter the amount you wish to send. The system will automatically display the equivalent in your local currency if needed.
- Review your transaction carefully. Double-check the recipient and the amount before continuing.
- Click the blue “Next” button to proceed.
- Confirm the transaction. You may be asked to input your PIN or use biometric verification for security.
- Once confirmed, your recipient will receive the funds instantly, and you’ll get a notification with the transaction details for your records.
How to request money
To request money using SpennX, follow these steps:
- Click on the “Request Money” button on your dashboard to start the process.
- Tap the “+” icon to add a recipient.
- Choose how to add the recipient you can search by phone number, email address, or SpennX tag. Make sure the information is correct to avoid sending the request to the wrong person.
- Enter the amount you’re requesting. The system will automatically display the total in your local currency.
- Add a note (optional). This can be a short description or reason for the request, such as ‘Taxi fare’ or ‘Contribution for lunch’. Notes make it easier for both you and the sender to track the purpose of the transaction.
- Review the details. Double-check that the recipient and amount are correct.
- Submit your request by tapping the confirmation button.

Are there transaction Limits?
Transaction limits vary by country. Please check the limits for your specific country to see which ones apply to you.
How long does a transaction take?
Transactions on SpennX are processed instantly, ensuring that the recipient receives the money immediately after you send it. In some cases, it may take a few seconds for the system to validate the transfer, depending on network speed or security checks. This short validation process is in place to confirm the accuracy of details and protect both the sender and recipient from errors or fraud. Once confirmed, both parties receive a notification with the transaction status for full transparency.
How long does it take to receive GBP/Euros?
The speed of your transfer depends on the payment rail you select when making a transaction. Some methods may deliver funds instantly, while others can take a few hours or longer depending on the provider’s processing time. SpennX also offers a same-day delivery option, allowing you to ensure faster receipt of funds for added convenience. This express service, however, comes with an additional fee that is clearly displayed before you confirm the transaction.

Does SpennX support Crypto?
Yes, SpennX supports cryptocurrencies by using stablecoin infrastructure for its multi-currency wallet, which serves as a platform for stablecoin-based transfers, remittances, and payments designed for the African market and beyond. Account Verification
How to perform KYC
When you’ve successfully created your account, you’ll be asked to verify your identity.
Click on the “Verify Identity” tab. Please upload the necessary documents requested and carefully follow the instructions to proceed in validating your account.
Your information will be automatically approved if correct. If not, a human will get in-touch with you to validate your identity.
ID documents acceptable
ID documents differ from country to country. When performing the KYC (Validation) process, the system will display a list of acceptable documents in your country, such as a national ID, driver’s license, or passport. Only upload documents from this accepted list, and make sure they are valid (not expired) and issued by the relevant authority. To ensure a smooth process, double-check that the details on your ID match the information you entered during registration, and that the uploaded images are clear, well-lit, and not cropped. Submitting incorrect or unclear documents may cause delays or result in your application being rejected. For added security, all documents submitted are encrypted and handled in compliance with data protection regulations.
Why was my validation rejected?
The documents and pictures you upload will be reviewed to ensure they meet the required standards. If they do not, your validation may be reset. To prevent this from happening, kindly follow this tips:
- Before taking a selfie, make sure the lighting is clear. Photos that are too dark or overexposed may make details difficult to read and could confuse the system.
- When taking a selfie, try to use a neutral background, preferably white.
- Kindly ensure that all details in your photo are clearly visible.
- Use a document that shows your most recent photo, and make sure you upload documents that are accepted in your country.
- If your country allows several types of identification documents, you may try a different one for validation.
- Finally, kindly ensure that all the information you enter is accurate. If there are any discrepancies between your photos and the information you provide, your validation may be reset.
What happens if my validation was unsuccessful?
If your validation was unsuccessful, you will receive an email explaining what went wrong and the specific reasons for the rejection, such as missing documents, unclear images, or incorrect details. Please review the feedback carefully, make the necessary corrections, and re-submit the requested information through the app. Ensure that the details provided match exactly with your official identification documents (e.g., spelling of your name, date of birth, and document numbers). It’s also important to upload clear, high-quality photos of your documents to avoid delays. Once resubmitted, your application will be re-verified, and you will be notified via email or in-app once your KYC is successfully approved.
Business Accounts
Requirements for opening a business account
To open a SpennX Business Account, you’ll need to provide the following:
- Provide your business details: Enter your legal business name, business registration number, tax identification number (TIN), staff size, incorporation date, and business website.
- Add your business address: Fill in your registered address, including country, state/region/province, city, street address, and postal code.
- Upload your KYC documents: These documents are legally required to confirm that your business is legitimate and operating under the correct licenses. Make sure they are clear, valid, and up to date to avoid delays in approval.
To verify your business account, you’ll need to upload:
- Proof of Business Address: such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.
- Proof of Business Registration: such as a Certificate of Incorporation or Business Registration Certificate.
Invoice creation flow
Follow these steps to create an invoice in your SpennX Business Account:
- Add customer details
Enter the customer’s name, email, and address. - Set invoice basics
Assign an invoice number, select a due date, and choose the currency. These details are essential for proper record-keeping. - List invoice items
Add each product or service with a clear description, quantity, and price.
Advanced Options (Optional)
- Discounts & Taxes: Apply fixed or percentage-based discounts and include any applicable taxes.
- Additional fields: Add a memo, VAT number, or delivery/order reference for more detailed billing.
- Branding: Include your business logo, invoice header, and signatures to professionalize your invoices.
- Notifications: Enable email alerts to get confirmation when an invoice is viewed or paid.
How to create event tickets
To create an event ticket:
- Navigate to “Event Tickets” under “Collect Payment”
- Click “+ New Event” to begin setting up
Event Setup Fields
- Title and Description: Provide details about your event.
- Event Banner (image upload): A visually appealing image to promote your event.
- Address of the event: For physical events.
- Event Date and Time (Start and End): Specify when the event will take place.

To create a recurring subscription plan, follow this steps:
1. Navigate to the “Recurring” section under “Collect Payment”
2. Click “Create Plan” to define a new subscription service
